al-Mustadrak (al-Hakim) 4930

✧ virtues of Haritha bin Nu'man "son of Naqa' one of the sons of Ghanm bin Malik, also known as Abu Abdullah, who witnessed the Battle of Badr and was martyred.

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ هِشَامِ بْنِ مُلَاسٍ ثنا مَرْوَانُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ ثنا حُمَيْدٌ عَنْ أَنَسٍ وَحَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حَمْشَاذٍ وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْقَاضِي ثنا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ

انْطَلَقَ حَارِثَةُ ابْنُ عَمَّتِي نَظَّارًا يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ وَمَا انْطَلَقَ لِقِتَالٍ فَأَصَابَهُ سَهْمٌ فَقَتَلَهُ فَجَاءَتْ عَمَّتِي إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ابْنِي حَارِثَةُ إِنْ يَكُنْ فِي الْجَنَّةِ أصْبِرْ وَأَحْتَسِبْ وَإِلَّا فَتَرَى مَا أَصْنَعُ فَقَالَ «يَا أُمِّ حَارِثَةَ إِنَّهَا جِنَانٌ كَثِيرَةٌ وَإِنَّ حَارِثَةَ فِي الْفِرْدَوْسِ الْأَعْلَى»

✧ Haritha, the son of my paternal aunt, went out as an observer on the day of Badr, and he did not go out to fight. An arrow struck him and killed him. My aunt came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, “O Messenger of Allah, my son Haritha—if he is in Paradise, I will be patient and seek reward; otherwise, you will see what I do.” He said, “O mother of Haritha, indeed there are many gardens, and indeed Haritha is in the highest Firdaws.”
