حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو الْبَزَّارُ بِبَغْدَادَ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ الْجُعْفِيُّ ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ عَنْ جَعْدَةَ بْنِ هُبَيْرَةَ قَالَ
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «خَيْرُ النَّاسِ قَرْنِي ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ ثُمَّ الْآخَرُونَ أَرْدَى»
Translation

✧ I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "The best of people are my generation, then those who follow them, then those who follow them, then the later ones are worse."
