حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ الْجَهْمِ ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ الْفَرَجِ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُمَرَ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ أُمِّ بَكْرٍ بِنْتِ الْمِسْوَرِ قَالَتْ
«كَانَ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ سُمَّ مِرَارًا كُلُّ ذَلِكَ يَفْلِتُ حَتَّى كَانَتِ الْمَرَّةُ الْأَخِيرَةُ الَّتِي مَاتَ فِيهَا فَإِنَّهُ كَانَ يَخْتَلِفُ كَبِدُهُ فَلَمَّا مَاتَ أَقَامَ نِسَاءُ بَنِي هَاشِمٍ النَّوْحَ عَلَيْهِ شَهْرًا»

✧ Al-Hasan ibn Ali was poisoned several times, each time surviving until the last time when he died. His liver was affected, and when he died, the women of Banu Hashim mourned him for a month.
