أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سَلْمَانَ الْفَقِيهُ بِبَغْدَادَ ثنا هِلَالُ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ الرَّقِّيُّ ثنا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ ثنا زُهَيْرٌ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ
أَتَتْ فَاطِمَةُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ تَسْأَلُهُ خَادِمًا فَقَالَ لَهَا «الَّذِي جِئْتِ تَطْلُبِينَ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْكِ أَمْ خَيْرٌ مِنْهُ» قَالَ فَحَسِبْتُ أَنَّهَا سَأَلَتْ عَلِيًّا قَالَ قُولِي اللَّهُمَّ رَبِّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَرَبِّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ رَبَّنَا وَرَبَّ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ مُنْزِلَ التَّوْرَاةِ وَالْإِنْجِيلِ وَالْقُرْآنِ فَالِقَ الْحَبِّ وَالنَّوَى أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ أَنْتَ آخِذٌ بِنَاصِيَتِهِ أَنْتَ الْأَوَّلُ فَلَيْسَ قَبْلَكَ شَيْءٌ وَأَنْتَ الْآخَرُ فَلَيْسَ بَعْدَكَ شَيْءٌ وَأَنْتَ الظَّاهِرُ فَلَيْسَ فَوْقَكَ شَيْءٌ وَأَنْتَ الْبَاطِنُ فَلَيْسَ دُونَكَ شَيْءٌ اقْضِ عَنَّا الدَّيْنَ وَأَغْنِنَا مِنَ الْفَقْرِ

✧ Fatimah came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ asking him for a servant. He said to her, "What you have come seeking is dearer to you, or something better than it?" He said: I think she asked Ali. He said: "Say: O Allah, Lord of the heavens and Lord of the Mighty Throne, our Lord and Lord of all things, Revealer of the Torah, the Gospel, and the Quran, Splitter of the grain and the date-stone, I seek refuge in You from the evil of everything whose forelock You hold. You are the First, so there is nothing before You; You are the Last, so there is nothing after You; You are the Outward, so there is nothing above You; You are the Inward, so there is nothing below You. Settle our debt and enrich us from poverty."
