حَدَّثَنَاهُ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الثَّقَفِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ كُهَيْلٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ فِي خُطْبَةٍ خَطَبَهَا فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ «لَأَقْتُلَنَّ الْعَمَالِقَةَ فِي كَتِيبَةٍ» فَقَالَ لَهُ جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ أَوْ عَلِيٌّ قَالَ «أَوْ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ» إسمعيل بن يحيى بن سلمة بن كهيل وأبوه متروكان

✧ The Prophet ﷺ said in a sermon he delivered during the Farewell Pilgrimage: “I will surely kill the Amalekites in a battalion.” Then Jibril ﷺ, or Ali, said to him: “Or Ali b. Abi Talib.” Ismail b. Yahya b. Salamah b. Kuhayl and his father are abandoned.
