Translation

✧ When the pledge of allegiance to 'Alī came to Ḥudhayfah, he said, 'I will not pledge allegiance after him except to one with a tilted neck or one cut short.'

• قَالَ الْحَاكِمُ «هَذِهِ الْأَخْبَارُ الْوَارِدَةُ فِي بَيْعَةِ أَمِيرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ كُلُّهَا صَحِيحَةٌ مُجْمَعٌ عَلَيْهَا فَأَمَّا قَوْلُ مَنْ زَعَمَ أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَمْرٍو أَبَا مَسْعُودٍ الْأَنْصَارِيَّ وَسَعْدَ بْنَ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ وَأَبَا مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيَّ وَمُحَمَّدَ بْنَ مَسْلَمَةَ الْأَنْصَارِيَّ وَأُسَامَةَ بْنَ زَيْدٍ قَعَدُوا عَنْ بَيْعَتِهِ فَإِنَّ هَذَا قَوْلُ مَنْ يَجْحَدُ حَقِيقَةَ تِلْكَ الْأَحْوَالِ فَاسْمَعِ الْآنَ حَقِيقَتَهَا»
