حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْفَقِيهُ أَنْبَأَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ أَنْبَأَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْمَدِيِنِيُّ ثنا صَفْوَانُ بْنُ عِيسَى ثنا الْحَارِثُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي ذُبَابٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ

«إِسْبَاغُ الْوُضُوءِ عَلَى الْمَكَارِهِ وَإِعْمَالُ الْأَقْدَامِ إِلَى الْمَسَاجِدِ وَانْتِظَارُ الصَّلَاةِ بَعْدَ الصَّلَاةِ يَغْسِلُ الْخَطَايَا غَسْلًا»

Translation

The Prophet said: "Sins are expiated by well-performed ablution despite difficulties, increasing the number of steps one takes towards the mosque, (and waiting for the next prayer after prayer)." (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 428)

Muḥammad b. ʿAqīl also narrated this hadith from Saʿīd b. al-Musayyab and traced it back through a chain to Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī, and both are weak (ḍaʿīf).
