✧ He was stabbed, so I said, “Rejoice in Paradise, O Commander of the Faithful. You embraced Islam when the people disbelieved, and you waged jihad with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when the people let him down, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed away while he was pleased with you, and not two men differed concerning your caliphate, and you have been killed as a martyr.” He said, “Repeat that to me,” so I repeated it to him. Then he said, “By Allah, besides whom there is no god, if I had whatever is on the earth of yellow and white, I would ransom myself with it from the terror of the rising.”
