حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْبَاقِي بْنُ قَانِعٍ الْحَافِظُ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُوسَى بْنِ حَمَّادٍ ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ ثنا بَقِيَّةُ ثنا بَحِيرُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ مَعْدَانَ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ نُفَيْرٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ

أَنَّهُ عَرَضَتْ مَوْلَاتُهُ تَصْبُغُ لِحْيَتَهُ فَقَالَ «مَا أَرَاكِ إِلَّا أَنْ تُطْفِئِي نُورِي كَمَا يُطْفِئُ فُلَانٌ نُورَهُ» سكت عنه الذهبي في التلخيص
