✧ When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ became seriously ill, we said, 'Who will pray over you, O Messenger of Allah?' He wept and we wept, and he said: 'Gently, may Allah forgive you and reward you well on behalf of your Prophet. When you have washed me, embalmed me, and shrouded me, place me on the edge of my grave, then leave me for a while. The first to pray over me will be my intimate friend and companion Jibril, then Mikail, then Israfil, then the Angel of Death with armies of angels. Then let the men of my household begin the prayer over me, then their women. Then enter in groups and singly, and do not harm me with wailing, lamentation, or shouting. Convey my greetings of peace to any of my companions who is absent, for I call you as witnesses that I have sent peace upon everyone who enters Islam and follows me in my religion from this day until the Day of Resurrection.'
