✧ Ishaq, son of Ibrahim al-Khalil, married a woman and she became pregnant with two boys in one womb. When she was about to give birth, the two boys fought in her womb. Ya'qub wanted to come out before 'Isa, but 'Isa said: By Allah, if you come out before me, I will obstruct the womb of my mother and kill her. So Ya'qub held back and 'Isa came out before him. Ya'qub grabbed the heel of 'Isa and came out, so he was named 'Isa because he disobeyed, and he was named Ya'qub because he came out holding the heel of 'Isa. He was the elder of the two in the womb, but he disobeyed and came out before him. The two boys grew, and 'Isa was the more beloved of them to his father, while Ya'qub was the more beloved of them to his mother. 'Isa was a hunter. When Ishaq grew old, he became blind.
