✧ Ya'qub (Jacob) son of Ishaq (Isaac) son of Ibrahim (Abraham) al-Khalil - peace be upon them.

أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الصَّفَّارُ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ طَلْحَةَ ثنا أَسْبَاطُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ عَنْ مُرَّةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ

وَأَمَّا الْأَسْبَاطُ فَهُمْ بَنُو يَعْقُوبَ يُوسُفُ وَبِنْيَامِينَ وَرُوبِيلُ وَيَهُوذَا وَشَمْعُونُ وَلَاوِي وَدَانُ وَفَهَاتُ فَكَانُوا اثْنَيْ عَشَرَ رَجُلًا نَشَرَ اللَّهُ مِنْهُمُ اثْنَيْ عَشَرَ سِبْطًا لَا يَعْلَمُ أَنْسَابَهُمْ إِلَّا اللَّهُ ﷻ قَالَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى {وَقَطَّعْنَاهُمُ اثْنَتَيْ عَشْرَةَ أَسْبَاطًا أُمَمًا} [الأعراف 160]

✧ As for the Asbat, they are the sons of Ya'qub: Yusuf, Binyamin, Rubil, Yahudha, Sham'un, Lawi, Dan, and Fahat. They were twelve men from whom Allah spread twelve tribes, whose lineages no one knows except Allah, may He be exalted. Allah Most High said: {And We divided them into twelve tribes, as nations} [Al-A'raf 160].
