أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْإِسْفَرَايِينِيُّ أَنْبَأَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ الْبَرَاءِ ثنا الْمُعَافَى بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ الْحَرَّانِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ الْحَرَّانِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحِيمِ الْحَرَّانِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ قَالَ

طَلَعَتْ كَفٌّ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ بَيْنَ أُصْبُعَيْنِ مِنْ أَصَابِعِهَا شَعْرَةٌ بَيْضَاءُ فَجَعَلَتْ تَدْنُو مِنْ رَأْسِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ثُمَّ تَدْنُو فَأَلْقَتْهَا فِي رَأْسِهِ وَقَالَتِ اشْتَعِلْ وَقَارًا ثُمَّ أَوْحَى اللَّهُ إِلَيْهِ أَنْ تَطَهَّرْ وَكَانَ أَوَّلَ مَنِ شَابَ وَاخْتَتَنَ وَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ مِمَّا أَنْزَلَ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ فِي الْقُرْآنِ فَكَانَ فِيمَا أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ {التَّائِبُونَ الْعَابِدُونَ الْحَامِدُونَ السَّائِحُونَ الرَّاكِعُونَ السَّاجِدُونَ الْآمِرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَالنَّاهُونَ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ وَالْحَافِظُونَ لِحُدُودِ اللَّهِ وَبَشِّرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ} [التوبة 112] وَ {قَدْ أَفْلَحَ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ} [المؤمنون 1] إِلَى قَوْلِهِ {الَّذِينَ يَرِثُونَ الْفِرْدَوْسَ هُمْ فِيهَا خَالِدُونَ} [المؤمنون 11] وَالَّتِي فِي الْأَحْزَابِ {إِنَّ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَالْمُسْلِمَاتِ} [الأحزاب 35] إِلَى آخِرِ الْآيَةِ وَالَّتِي فِي سَأَلَ {الَّذِينَ هُمْ عَلَى صَلَاتِهِمْ دَائِمُونَ} [المعارج 23] إِلَى قَوْلِهِ {وَالَّذِينَ هُمْ بِشَهَادَاتِهِمْ قَائِمُونَ} [المعارج 33] فَلَمْ يَفِ بِهَذِهِ السِّهَامِ إِلَّا إِبْرَاهِيمُ خَلِيلُ اللَّهِ وَمُحَمَّدٌ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِمَا وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ

✧ A palm appeared from the sky, and between two of its fingers there was a white hair. It began to draw near to Ibrahim's head, then drew nearer, and cast it onto his head, and said: "Ignite with dignity." Then Allah revealed to him to purify himself. He was the first to have gray hair and to be circumcised. Allah sent down to Ibrahim some of what He sent down to Muhammad in the Qur'an. Among what Allah sent down to him were: {The repentant, the worshippers, the praisers, the travelers, the bowers, the prostrators, the commanders of good and the forbidders of evil, and the keepers of Allah's limits; and give glad tidings to the believers} [Al-Tawbah: 112], and {Indeed, the believers have succeeded} [Al-Mu'minun: 1] up to His saying: {Who will inherit Paradise; they will abide therein eternally} [Al-Mu'minun: 11], and the one in Al-Ahzab: {Indeed, the Muslim men and Muslim women} [Al-Ahzab: 35] to the end of the verse, and the one in Sa'ala: {Those who are constant in their prayer} [Al-Ma'arij: 23] up to His saying: {And those who stand firm in their testimonies} [Al-Ma'arij: 33]. No one fulfilled these portions except Ibrahim, the Friend of Allah, and Muhammad, may Allah's blessings be upon them both and upon his family and peace.
