✧ I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the pre-Islamic period at the market of Dhu al-Majaz, saying: "O people, say: There is no god but Allah, and you will prosper." He repeated it many times while people gathered around him and followed him. Behind him was a cross-eyed man with two braids and a bright face, saying: "He is a Sabian, a liar." I asked: "Who is this?" They said: "His uncle Abu Lahab." [And I only cited 'Abd al-Rahman b. Abi al-Zinad as evidence, following their example, for they both cited him as evidence.]
