✧ He heard Abdullah bin Mas'ood saying: "Verily, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to his companions while he was in Makkah: 'Whoever of you wants to meet the emissaries of the jinn tonight, let him do so.' None of them (except me) came, so we set out until we reached the highest point in Makkah. He drew a line with his foot and commanded me to sit on it. Then he went on until he stood and began reciting the Quran. A cloud overshadowed him and covered him with so many dark layers that I could not hear his voice. Then they departed and dispersed like pieces of scattered clouds, going away. Only a few of them remained. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ finished praying before dawn and left. He appeared again and asked me, 'What happened to the emissaries?' I replied, 'They are there, O Messenger of Allah.' So he took bones and the dung and gave them to them as provisions. Then he forbade anyone of them to use bones or dung for personal use.'
