✧ This verse was revealed: {And whoever fears Allah, He will make a way out for him and provide for him from where he does not expect} [al-Talaq 3] concerning a man from Ashjaʿ who was poor, with little means and many dependents. He came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and asked him. He ﷺ said to him: 'Fear Allah and be patient.' He returned to his companions and they said: What did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ give you? He said: He did not give me anything, but he said to me: 'Fear Allah and be patient.' It was only a short while before his son came with some sheep of his that the enemy had seized. He came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and asked him about them and told him what had happened. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Eat them.' So the verse was revealed: {And whoever fears Allah, He will make a way out for him and provide for him from where he does not expect} [al-Talaq 2].
