حَدَّثَنِيهِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ حَمْشَاذَ ثنا مُوسَى بْنُ هَارُونَ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ مُوسَى ثنا عَتَّابُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ شَوْذَبٍ ثنا كَعْبُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ قُلْتُ لِأَبِي قَتَادَةَ

حَدِّثْنِي بِشَيْءٍ سَمِعْتَهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ أَخْشَى أَنْ يَزِلَّ لِسَانِي بِشَيْءٍ لَمْ يَقُلْهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِيَّاكُمْ وَكَثْرَةَ الْحَدِيثِ عَنِّي مَنْ كَذَبَ عَلَيَّ مُتَعَمِّدًا فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنَ النَّارِ»

✧ Narrate to me something you heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He said: I fear that my tongue may slip with something the Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not say. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: “Beware of narrating too much from me. Whoever deliberately lies about me, let him take his seat in the Fire.”
