أَخْبَرَنَا الشَّيْخُ أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ فِي سَنَدِ مُسَدَّدِ بْنِ مُسَرْهَدٍ أَنْبَأَ أَبُو الْمُثَنَّى عَنْ مُسَدَّدٌ ثنا الْمُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو شُعَيْبٍ الصَّلْتُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ حَدَّثَنِي عُقْبَةُ بْنُ صُهْبَانَ الْحَرَّانِيُّ قَالَ
قُلْتُ لِعَائِشَةَ يَا أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَرَأَيْتِ قَوْلَ اللَّهِ ﷻ {ثُمَّ أَوْرَثْنَا الْكِتَابَ الَّذِينَ اصْطَفَيْنَا مِنْ عِبَادِنَا فَمِنْهُمْ ظَالِمٌ لِنَفْسِهِ وَمِنْهُمْ مُقْتَصِدٌ وَمِنْهُمْ سَابِقٌ بِالْخَيْرَاتِ بِإِذْنِ اللَّهِ ذَلِكَ هُوَ الْفَضْلُ الْكَبِيرُ} [فاطر 32] فَقَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ «أَمَّا السَّابِقُ فَمَنْ مَضَى فِي حَيَاةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَشَهِدَ لَهُ بِالْحَيَاةِ وَالرِّزْقِ وَأَمَّا الْمُقْتَصِدُ فَمَنِ اتَّبَعَ آثَارُهُمْ فَعَمِلَ بِأَعْمَالِهِمْ حَتَّى يَلْحَقَ بِهِمْ وَأَمَّا الظَّالِمُ لِنَفْسِهِ فَمِثْلِي وَمِثْلُكَ وَمَنِ اتَّبَعَنَا وَكُلٌّ فِي الْجَنَّةِ» صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يُخْرِجَاهُ الصلت قال النسائي ليس بثقة وقال أحمد ليس بالقوي

✧ I said to 'A'ishah, "O Mother of the Believers, what do you think of the saying of Allah, Exalted is He: {Then We caused to inherit the Book those whom We have chosen of Our servants; and among them is he who wrongs himself, and among them is he who is moderate, and among them is he who is foremost in good deeds by permission of Allah. That is the great bounty} [Fatir 32]?" 'A'ishah said: "As for the foremost, they are those who passed away during the life of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he bore witness to their life and provision. As for the moderate, they are those who followed their traces and acted according to their deeds until they joined them. As for the one who wrongs himself, he is like me and like you and whoever followed us, and all are in Paradise." Sahih al-isnad, but they did not include it. Al-Salt: al-Nasa'i said he is not trustworthy, and Ahmad said he is not strong.
