✧ Sulayman b. Dawud, upon them be peace, died while standing in prayer, and the devils did not know of it until a termite ate his staff and he fell. Whenever a tree grew, he would ask it, "For what ailment are you?" He said: It would inform him, as Allah, Exalted is He, told: {And to Sulayman [We subjected] the wind—its morning course was a month and its evening course was a month, and We made flow for him a spring of molten copper} [Saba' 12]—all the verses. When the carob tree grew, he asked it, "For what purpose have you grown?" It said, "For the ruin of this mosque." He said, "The ruin of this mosque will only occur at my death," so he stood up to pray.
