✧ I was in a gathering in which Hudhayfah b. al-Yaman was present, and I said: Indeed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, when he was taken on the Night Journey, entered al-Masjid al-Aqsa. He said: Hudhayfah said: And how did you know that, O bald one? Indeed, I recognize your face but I do not know your name, so what is your name? I said to him: I am Zirr b. Hubaysh al-Asadi. He said: Then he said: How did you know that he entered the mosque? He said: I said: Through the Qur'an. Hudhayfah said: Whoever takes from the Qur'an has succeeded. He said: I recited: {Glory be to Him who took His servant by night from the Sacred Mosque to the Farthest Mosque, whose surroundings We have blessed} [al-Isra' 1]. Hudhayfah said: Do you see that he entered it? I said: Yes. He said: By Allah, he did not enter it, and had he entered it, prayer in it would have been prescribed upon you. He said: Then he said: He did not leave the back of al-Buraq until he saw Paradise and Hellfire and was promised the entirety of the Hereafter. He said: I said: O Abu 'Abd Allah, what is al-Buraq? He said: A beast above a donkey and below a mule, its stride is as far as its sight.
