✧ When the day of Uhud occurred, sixty-four men from the Ansar were struck, and six from the Muhajirun, and they mutilated them, among them Hamzah. The Ansar said: If we ever strike them on a day like this, we will certainly exceed them. When the day of the conquest of Makkah came, Allah ﷻ sent down: {And if you punish, then punish with the like of what you were punished with; but if you are patient, it is surely better for the patient} [al-Nahl 126]. A man said: No Quraysh after today. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Restrain from the people except four."
