حَدَّثَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ عِيسَى ثنا مُسَدَّدُ بْنُ قَطَنٍ ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ

لَمَّا أُصِيبَ إِخْوَانُكُمْ بِأُحُدٍ جَعَلَ اللَّهُ أَرْوَاحَهُمْ فِي جَوْفِ طَيْرٍ تَرِدُ أَنْهَارَ الْجَنَّةِ وَتَأْكُلُ مِنْ ثِمَارِهَا وَتَأْوِي إِلَى قَنَادِيلَ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ مُعَلَّقَةٍ فِي ظِلِّ الْعَرْشِ فَلَمَّا وَجَدُوا طِيبَ مَأْكَلِهِمْ وَمَشْرَبِهِمْ وَمَقِيلِهِمْ قَالُوا مَنْ يُبَلِّغُ إِخْوَانَنَا عَنَّا أَنَّا أَحْيَاءُ فِي الْجَنَّةِ نُرْزَقُ لِأَنْ لَا يَزْهَدُوا فِي الْجِهَادِ وَلَا يَنْكُلُوا فِي الْحَرْبِ؟ فَقَالَ اللَّهُ ﷻ أَنَا أُبَلِّغُهُمْ عَنْكُمْ فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ ﷻ {وَلَا تَحْسَبَنَّ الَّذِينَ قُتِلُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ} [آل عمران 169] الْآيَةُ

✧ When your brothers were struck at Uhud, Allah placed their souls in the crops of green birds that come to the rivers of Paradise, eat from its fruits, and shelter in lanterns of gold hanging in the shade of the Throne. When they found the goodness of their food, drink, and resting place, they said: Who will convey to our brothers about us that we are alive in Paradise, being provided for, so that they will not renounce jihad or hold back in war? Allah, Exalted is He, said: I will convey it to them on your behalf. So Allah, Exalted is He, sent down: {And never think of those who have been killed in the cause of Allah} [Al Imran 169]—the verse.
