حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْبَاقِي بْنُ قَانِعٍ الْحَافِظُ ثنا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ الْعِجْلِيُّ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي النَّضْرِ ثنا أَبِي ثنا زِيَادُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُلَاثَةَ ثنا مُوسَى بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّيْمِيُّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ سَأَلَ الْبَرَاءَ بْنَ عَازِبٍ فَقَالَ «يَا بَرَاءُ كَيْفَ نَفَقَتُكَ عَلَى أَهْلِكَ؟» قَالَ وَكَانَ مُوَسِّعًا عَلَى أَهْلِهِ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَا أَحْسِبُهَا؟ قَالَ «فَإِنَّ نَفَقَتَكَ عَلَى أَهْلِكَ وَوَلَدِكَ وَخَادِمِكَ صَدَقَةٌ فَلَا تُتْبِعْ ذَلِكَ مَنًّا وَلَا أَذًى»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked al-Bara' b. 'Azib, saying: "O Bara', how is your spending on your family?" He said: He was generous to his family. He said: O Messenger of Allah, I do not consider it. He said: "Indeed, your spending on your family, your children, and your servant is charity, so do not follow that with reproach or harm."
