  • Ibn Kathīr

machine translationIt is a mistake (ghalaṭ).

  • Badr al-Dīn al-ʿAynī

machine translationBy his statement "mistake (ghalaṭ)", Ibn Kathīr meant that raising it to the Prophet (marfūʿ) is a mistake. I wonder what difference there is, in this instance, between it being a statement of a Companion (mawqūf) and it being raised to the Prophet (marfūʿ).
