✧ Explanation of Surah al-Baqarah

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الصَّغَانِيُّ ثنا يَعْلَى بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ

الرَّفَثُ الْجِمَاعُ وَالْفُسُوقُ مَا أُصِيبَ مِنْ مَعَاصِي اللَّهِ مِنْ صَيْدٍ وَغَيْرِهِ وَالْجِدَالُ السِّبَابُ وَالْمُنَازَعَةُ

Translation

✧ Al-rafath is sexual intercourse; al-fusūq is whatever one commits of disobedience to Allah, such as hunting and other things; and al-jidāl is reviling and quarreling.

  • «هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ مُسْلِمٍ وَلَمْ يُخْرِجَاهُ» على شرط مسلم
