أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الْحَافِظُ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ

أَنَّهُ قَامَ فَخَطَبَ النَّاسَ هَا هُنَا يَعْنِي بِالْبَصْرَةِ فَقَرَأَ عَلَيْهِمْ سُورَةَ الْبَقَرَةِ وَبَيَّنَ مَا فِيهَا فَأَتَى عَلَى هَذِهِ الْآيَةِ {إِنْ تَرَكَ خَيْرًا الْوَصِيَّةُ لِلْوَالِدَيْنِ} [البقرة 180] قَالَ «نُسِخَتْ هَذِهِ ثُمَّ ذَكَرَ مَا بَعْدَهُ

✧ He stood and addressed the people here, meaning in Basra, and recited to them Surah al-Baqarah and explained what was in it. He came to this verse: {If he leaves wealth, the bequest is for the parents} [al-Baqarah 180] and said: This was abrogated. Then he mentioned what came after it.
