✧ Al-Zubayr: When {Indeed you are to die, and indeed they are to die. Then indeed you, on the Day of Resurrection, before your Lord, will dispute} [al-Zumar 31] was revealed, al-Zubayr said: "O Messenger of Allah, will what was between us in this world, along with the particular sins, be repeated for us?" He said: "Yes, it will be repeated for them until they render to every possessor of a right his due." Al-Zubayr said: "By Allah, the matter is surely severe."

It was narrated by Sufyān b. ʿUyaynah, from Muḥammad b. ʿAmr, from Yaḥyā, from ʿAbdullāh b. al-Zubayr, from al-Zubayr. Ziyād b. Ayyūb narrated it from Ibn ʿUyaynah and did not mention Ibn al-Zubayr in it; he cut it short and made it mursal (disconnected by omitting the Companion).
