✧ Regarding the saying of Allah ﷻ: {Alif Lām Mīm. The Romans have been defeated} [al-Rūm: 2] — or 'have defeated'? He said: 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ taught me to recite: {Alif Lām Mīm. The Romans have been defeated} [al-Rūm: 1].' We have not written these two hadiths except with this chain, although Muḥammad b. Saʿīd al-Shāmī is not of the standard of this book. Muḥammad b. Saʿīd is the one who was crucified, perished, and Bakr b. Khunays is abandoned.
