أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُؤَمَّلِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عِيسَى ثنا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الشَّعْرَانِيُّ ثنا نُعَيْمُ بْنُ حَمَّادٍ وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ جَمِيلٍ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ وَعَبْدَةُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ الطَّرَسُوسِيُّ قَالُوا ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ أَنْبَأَ سَعِيدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ أَبُو شُجَاعٍ عَنْ أَبِي السَّمْحِ دَرَّاجِ بْنِ سَمْعَانَ عَنْ أَبِي الْهَيْثَمِ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَبْدٍ الْعُتْوَارِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ {وَهُمْ فِيهَا كَالِحُونَ} [المؤمنون 104] قَالَ «تَشْوِيهِ النَّارُ فَتَقَلَّصُ شَفَتُهُ الْعُلْيَا حَتَّى تَبْلُغَ وَسَطَ رَأْسِهِ وَتَسْتَرْخِي شَفَتُهُ السُّفْلَى حَتَّى تَبْلُغَ سُرَّتَهُ»

✧ From the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, regarding {And they therein are grimacing} [al-Muʾminūn: 104]: He said: 'The Fire will disfigure them, and their upper lip will contract until it reaches the middle of his head, and their lower lip will hang down until it reaches his navel.'

  • هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ مِنْ إِسْنَادِ الْمِصْرِيِّينَ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ يَعْقُوبَ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ الْعَبَّاسَ بْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ الدُّورِيَّ يَقُولُ سَأَلْتُ يَحْيَى بْنَ مَعِينٍ عَنْ أَحَادِيثِ دَرَّاجٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْهَيْثَمِ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ فَقَالَ «هَذَا إِسْنَادٌ صَحِيحٌ»

    machine translationThis is a sound (ṣaḥīḥ) hadith from the chain of the Egyptians, and the two (al-Bukhārī and Muslim) did not narrate it. I heard Abū al-ʿAbbās Muḥammad b. Yaʿqūb say: I heard al-ʿAbbās b. Muḥammad al-Dūrī say: I asked Yaḥyā b. Maʿīn about the hadiths of Darrāj from Abū al-Haytham from Abū Saʿīd, and he said: "This is a sound chain."
