حَدَّثَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ حَمْشَاذَ الْعَدْلُ وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْقَطِيعِيُّ قَالَا ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَنْبَأَ مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ أَنَّ الْمُغِيرَةَ بْنَ شُعْبَةَ خَطَبَ امْرَأَةً فَقَالَ
رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «اذْهَبْ فَانْظُرْ إِلَيْهَا فَإِنَّهُ أَحْرَى أَنْ يُؤْدَمَ بَيْنَكُمَا» قَالَ فَذَهَبَ فَنَظَرَ إِلَيْهَا فَذَكَرَ مِنْ مُوَافَقَتِهَا

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Go and look at her, for it is more likely to create affection between you." He said: So he went and looked at her, then he mentioned her suitability.
