أَخْبَرَنَاهُ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْعَنَزِيُّ ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الدَّارِمِيُّ ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ ثنا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ثنا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَلَامٍ قَالَ

كُنَّا قُعُودًا عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقُلْنَا لَوْ نَعْلَمُ أَيَّ الْأَعْمَالِ أَحَبَّ إِلَى اللَّهِ فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ بِنَحْوِهِ

✧ We were sitting with the Prophet ﷺ and said, "If only we knew which deeds are most beloved to Allah." Then he mentioned the hadith in a similar manner.
