✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said about a treasure a man found: “If you found it in an inhabited village or on a frequented road, then announce it. But if you found it in a ruin of the pre-Islamic era or in an uninhabited village or on an unfrequented road, then in it and in the buried treasure (rikāz) the fifth is due.” I have presented many arguments in this book for authenticating the narrations of ʿAmr b. Shuʿayb when the narrator from him is trustworthy; and none is reported from him better than these narrations. I had been seeking clear evidence for Shuʿayb b. Muḥammad’s hearing from ʿAbd Allāh b. ʿAmr, but I have not obtained it until now. Sahih.
