✧ "He would never sit in a gathering without anyone else present, except that he would say, 'O Allah, forgive me for what I have done in the past and what I will do in the future, and what I have hidden and what I have made public, and what You know of me that I do not know. O Allah, grant me from Your obedience what will come between me and Your disobedience, and grant me from Your fear what will bring me closer to Your mercy, and grant me from certainty what will make worldly tribulations easier for me. Bless my hearing and my vision and make them my heirs. O Allah, seek revenge for me from those who wrong me, and help me against those who oppose me, and do not make the world my greatest concern, and do not allow knowledge to be beyond my reach. O Allah, do not let those who do not show mercy towards me have control over me.'" Ibn 'Umar was asked about them, and he said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to conclude his gatherings with them."
