أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْهَاشِمِيُّ بِالْكُوفَةِ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَازِمِ بْنِ أَبِي غَرْزَةَ الْغِفَارِيُّ ثنا خَالِدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ الْقَطَوَانِيُّ وَأَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو سَعِيدٍ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ الْمُؤَذِّنُ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْإِمَامُ ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ثنا خَالِدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ عَنْ مَيْسَرَةَ بْنِ حَبِيبٍ عَنِ الْمِنْهَالِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ قَالَ

كُنَّا مَعَ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ بِعَرَفَةَ فَقَالَ لِي يَا سَيِّدُ مَا لِي لَا أَسْمَعُ النَّاسَ يُلَبُّونَ؟ فَقُلْتُ يَخَافُونَ مِنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ قَالَ فَخَرَجَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ مِنْ فُسْطَاطِهِ فَقَالَ «لَبَّيْكَ اللَّهُمَّ لَبَّيْكَ فَإِنَّهُمْ قَدْ تَرَكُوا السُّنَّةَ مِنْ بُغْضِ عَلِيٍّ

✧ We were with Ibn Abbas at Arafah, and he said to me: “O sayyid, why do I not hear the people reciting the Talbiyah?” I said: “They fear Mu'awiyah.” He said: Then Ibn Abbas came out of his tent and said: “Labbayk Allahumma labbayk, for they have abandoned the Sunnah out of hatred for Ali.”
