أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ الْمَحْبُوبِيُّ بِمَرْوَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ ثنا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ النَّبِيلُ ثنا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ وَهُوَ ابْنُ الْحَكَمِ قَالَ
رَأَيْتُ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ عَبَّادِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ قَبَّلَ الْحَجَرَ وَسَجَدَ عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ رَأَيْتُ خَالَكَ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ يُقَبِّلُهُ وَيَسْجُدُ عَلَيْهِ وَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ رَأَيْتُ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ قَبَّلَهُ وَسَجَدَ عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ «رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَعَلَ هَكَذَا فَفَعَلْتُ»

✧ I saw Muḥammad b. ʿAbbād b. Jaʿfar kiss the Stone and prostrate upon it, then he said: I saw your maternal uncle Ibn ʿAbbās kiss it and prostrate upon it, and Ibn ʿAbbās said: I saw ʿUmar b. al-Khaṭṭāb kiss it and prostrate upon it, then he said: I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ do like this, so I did it.
