Translation

Chain of narrators
  1. his father
  2. Kurayb a freed slave of Ibn ʿAbbās

✧ He informed him that Ibn Abbas and some people from among the companions of the Messenger ﷺ sent me to Umm Salamah to ask her about which days the Messenger of Allah ﷺ fasted most with her. She said, "Saturday and Sunday." So I returned to them and informed them, and it was as if they rejected that. They all arose and went to her and said, "We sent this one to you about such-and-such, and he mentioned that you said such-and-such." She said, "He has spoken the truth. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ fasted most often on Saturday and Sunday, and he used to say, 'They are two festival days for the polytheists, and I want to differ from them.'"
