machine translationIbn ʿAbbās narrated to me that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Do not anticipate the month by fasting in advance. Fast when you see it and break the fast when you see it. If a cloud or dust obscures it from your sight, then complete the count of thirty days." This is a hadith with a sound chain (ṣaḥīḥ al-isnād), and they (al-Bukhārī and Muslim) did not record it with this wording.
