machine translationThis is a ḥadīth with a sound chain (ṣaḥīḥ al-isnād), though the two (al-Bukhārī and Muslim) did not include it in their collections. This Muḥammad b. Abī Yaʿqūb is the one about whom Shuʿbah, whenever he narrated from him, would say: "The master of Banū Tamīm narrated to me." Abū Naṣr al-Hilālī is Ḥumayd b. Hilāl al-ʿAdawī, and I do not know of any narrator from Shuʿbah for him other than ʿAbd al-Ṣamad, who is trustworthy (thiqah) and reliable (maʾmūn).
