✧ Two men entered upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and asked him about something, so he called for two dinars for them. They praised him well. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "But so-and-so does not say that, yet I gave him between ten and a hundred, and he does not say that. One of you leaves with charity from me carrying it under his arm, but it is only fire for him." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, how can you give him when you know it is fire for him?" He said, "What can I do? They insist on asking me, and Allah refuses for me to be stingy." As for Mu'tamir b. Sulayman al-Raqqi, they did not include it, while Muslim narrated from 'Abdullah b. Bishr al-Raqqi, except that this hadith is not a defect for the hadith of al-A'mash from Abu Salih, for it corroborates it with another chain.
