✧ As for the saying of Abu Shihab

فَحَدَّثَنَاهُ أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ بَالَوَيْهِ ثنا مُوسَى بْنُ هَارُونَ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ الزَّاهِدُ ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ أَنْبَأَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَلْقَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ عَنْ بِلَالِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ الْمُزَنِيِّ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ

«إِنَّ أَحَدَكُمْ لَيَتَكَلَّمُ بِالْكَلِمَةِ مِنْ رِضْوَانِ اللَّهِ وَمَا يَظُنُّ أَنْ تَبْلُغَ مَا بَلَغَتْ فَيُكْتَبُ اللَّهُ لَهُ بِهَا رِضْوَانَهُ إِلَى يَوْمِ يَلْقَاهُ وَإِنَّ أَحَدَكُمْ لَيَتَكَلَّمُ بِالْكَلِمَةِ مِنْ سَخَطِ اللَّهِ وَمَا يَظُنُّ أَنْ تَبْلُغَ مَا بَلَغَتْ يَكْتُبُ اللَّهُ بِهَا عَلَيْهِ سَخَطَهُ إِلَى يَوْمِ يَلْقَاهُ»

✧ One of you may utter a word pleasing to Allah, not thinking it would reach what it reached, and Allah records His pleasure for him due to it until the day he meets Him. And one of you may utter a word displeasing to Allah, not thinking it would reach what it reached, and Allah records His displeasure upon him due to it until the day he meets Him.
