حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْخَلَّالُ بِمَكَّةَ ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْكَاتِبُ ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ الْحِزَامِيُّ ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ زَيْدِ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ رُكَانَةَ بْنِ الْمُطَّلِبِ قَالَ

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا قَامَ لِلْجِنَازَةِ لِيُصَلِّيَ عَلَيْهَا قَالَ «اللَّهُمَّ عَبْدُكَ وَابْنُ أَمَتِكَ احْتَاجَ إِلَى رَحْمَتِكَ وَأَنْتَ غَنِيٌّ عَنْ عَذَابِهِ إِنْ كَانَ مُحْسِنًا فَزِدْ فِي إِحْسَانِهِ وَإِنْ كَانَ مُسِيئًا فَتَجَاوَزَ عَنْهُ»

✧ "When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood up for a funeral prayer, he would say, 'O Allah, Your servant and the son of Your female servant is in need of Your mercy, while You are not in need of His punishment. If he was righteous, then increase his good deeds, and if he was a wrongdoer, then overlook his sins.'"
