✧ When the believer is dying, the angels of mercy come to him with white silk and say: "Come out, content and pleasing, to the spirit of Allah, and sweet basil, and a Lord who is not angry." It comes out like the best scent of musk, so much so that they pass him to one another, smelling him, until they bring him to the gate of heaven. They say: "How good is this scent that has come to you from the earth!" Every time they come to a heaven, they say that until they bring him to the spirits of the believers. He said: "They are happier with him than one of you with his absent one when he comes to him." He said: "They ask him: 'What did so-and-so do?'" He said: "They say: 'Leave him until he rests, for he was in the distress of the world.' And if he says to them: 'Did he not come to you? He has died.'" He said: "They say: 'He was taken to his mother, the abyss.'" He said: "As for the disbeliever, the angels of punishment come to him and say: 'Come out, angry and subjected to anger, to the punishment of Allah and His wrath.' It comes out like the foulest smell of a carcass, and they go with him to the gate of the earth. They say: 'How foul is this smell!' Every time they come upon a land, they say that until they bring him to the spirits of the disbelievers."
