✧ The sun eclipsed during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, so he came out alarmed, dragging his garment, and I was with him that day in Madinah. He prayed two rak'ahs and prolonged the standing in them, then he finished and the eclipse cleared. He said: "These signs are only meant for Allah to instill fear through them. So when you see them—meaning, pray as the most recent obligatory prayer you have prayed."
