أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ أَيُّوبَ الطُّوسِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِي مَسَرَّةَ ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ الْمُقْرِئُ ثنا حَيْوَةُ بْنُ شُرَيْحٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عُقْبَةَ بْنَ مُسْلِمٍ التُّجِيبِيَّ يَقُولُ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْحُبُلِيُّ عَنِ الصُّنَابِحِيّ عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ
أَنَّهُ قَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَخَذَ بِيَدِي يَوْمًا ثُمَّ قَالَ «يَا مُعَاذُ وَاللَّهِ إِنِّي لَأُحِبُّكَ» فَقَالَ مُعَاذٌ بِأَبِي وَأُمِّي يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَأَنَا وَاللَّهِ أُحِبُّكَ فَقَالَ أُوصِيكَ يَا مُعَاذُ لَا تَدَعَنَّ فِي دُبُرِ كُلِّ صَلَاةٍ أَنْ تَقُولَ اللَّهُمَّ أَعِنِّي عَلَى ذِكْرِكَ وَشُكْرِكَ وَحُسْنِ عِبَادَتِكَ قَالَ وَأَوْصَى بِذَلِكَ مُعَاذٌ الصُّنَابِحِيَّ وَأَوْصَى الصُّنَابِحِيُّ أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْحُبُلِيَّ وَأَوْصَى أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عُقْبَةَ بْنَ مُسْلِمٍ

✧ He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ took me by the hand one day and said, "O Mu'adh, by Allah, I love you." Mu'adh said, "May my father and mother be sacrificed for you, O Messenger of Allah ﷺ, by Allah, I love you." He said, "I enjoin you, O Mu'adh, do not fail to say after every prayer: O Allah, help me to remember You, thank You, and worship You well." He said: And Mu'adh enjoined that upon al-Sunabihi, and al-Sunabihi enjoined it upon Abu 'Abd al-Rahman al-Hubuli, and Abu 'Abd al-Rahman enjoined it upon 'Uqbah b. Muslim.
