✧ I was shown the Night of Decree and then I was made to forget it; and I was shown the Messiah of Misguidance. I saw two men disputing, so I intervened between them, and then I was made to forget it. So seek it in the last ten nights on the odd nights. As for the Messiah of Misguidance, he is a man with a broad forehead, blind in the left eye, with a wide chest, as if he were 'Abd al-'Uzza b. Qatan.

✧ We were with the Messenger of God ﷺ when revelation came down upon him. When it descended upon him, he opened his eyes and focused his hearing and sight on what came to him from God. When he finished, he said to the scribe: 'Write: The inactive among the believers and those who strive in the cause of God with their wealth and lives are not equal. God has favored those who strive over those who remain inactive by a degree.' Then Ibn Umm Maktum, the blind man, stood up and said: 'O Messenger of God, excuse us.' Then God sent down while he was standing, and the scribe said: 'Write: except for those who have a disability.'

✧ The Prophet ﷺ was sitting in the gathering when his gaze fell upon a man in the mosque who was walking. He said: 'O Abu Fulan.' The man replied: 'At your service, O Messenger of God,' and he did not respond to any speech except by saying: 'O Messenger of God.' He said to him: 'Do you bear witness that I am the Messenger of God?' He said: 'No.' He said: 'Do you read the Torah?' He said: 'Yes.' He said: 'And the Gospel?' He said: 'Yes.' He said: 'And the Quran?' He said: 'By the One in Whose hand is my soul, if we wished we could read it.' Then he adjured him: 'Do you find me in the Torah and the Gospel?' He said: 'We find one like you, with your appearance and your coming forth. We hoped that he would be among us, but when you came forth, we feared that you might be him, so we looked and found that you are not him.' He said: 'And why is that?' He said: 'With him will be seventy thousand of his nation for whom there will be no reckoning and no punishment, while with you there are only a few people.' He said: 'By the One in Whose hand is my soul, I am indeed he, and they are indeed my nation, and they are more than seventy thousand and seventy thousand.'
