  1. Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 1153Sahih

✧ From Ibn ʿUmar: The Prophet ﷺ forbade that a man be made to get up from a seat and then another sit in it.

  2. Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 1154Sahih

✧ From Anas: I served the Messenger of Allah ﷺ one day until I saw that I had finished my service to him. I said, 'The Prophet ﷺ is taking a midday nap,' and I left his presence. There were some boys playing, and I stood watching them and their play. The Prophet ﷺ came and reached them, greeted them, then called me and sent me on an errand. He remained in the shade until I came to him. I was late in returning to my mother, and she said, 'What kept you?' I said, 'The Prophet ﷺ sent me on an errand.' She said, 'What was it?' I said, 'It is a secret of the Prophet ﷺ.' She said, 'Keep the secret of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.' I never told anyone about that errand. If I were to tell someone, I would tell you.

  3. Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 1155Hasan

✧ He heard Abū Hurayrah describing the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: He was of medium height, closer to being tall, very fair-skinned, with a black beard, fine teeth, long eyelashes, broad-shouldered, with a smooth forehead. He walked with his entire foot, leaving no hollow. He turned completely, both when facing and when turning away. I have never seen the like of him, before or after.

✧ ʿUmar said to me, 'If I send you to a man, do not tell him what I have sent you to him for, for Satan prepares a lie for him at that moment.'

  5. Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 1157Weak

✧ That a man should stare at his brother or follow him with his gaze when he gets up from his presence, or ask him, 'Where have you come from, and where are you going?'

✧ From the Prophet ﷺ: Whoever makes an image will be tasked with blowing life into it and will be punished, but he will never blow life into it. Whoever falsely claims to have seen a dream will be tasked with tying two grains of barley together and will be punished, but he will never tie them together. And whoever listens to the conversation of people who are avoiding him, molten lead will be poured into his ears.

✧ Anas b. Mālik narrated to us: I entered upon the Prophet ﷺ while he was on a bed woven with rope, with a leather pillow stuffed with palm fiber under his head. Between his skin and the bed there was only a cloth. ʿUmar entered upon him and wept. The Prophet ﷺ said to him, 'What makes you weep, O ʿUmar?' He said, 'By Allah, I do not weep, O Messenger of Allah, except that I know you are more honored by Allah than Kisrā and Caesar. They live in luxury in this world, while you, O Messenger of Allah, are in the state I see.' The Prophet ﷺ said, 'Are you not pleased, O ʿUmar, that for them is this world and for us the Hereafter?' I said, 'Yes, O Messenger of Allah.' He said, 'Indeed, it is so.'
