Sunan ad-Darimi 790

✧ In a woman, you can see in her dreams what a man sees.

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ حَدَّثَنِي اللَّيْثُ حَدَّثَنِي عُقَيْلٌ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ حَدَّثَنِي عُرْوَةُ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهَا أَخْبَرَتْهُ

أَنَّ أُمَّ سُلَيْمٍ أُمَّ بَنِي أَبِي طَلْحَةَ دَخَلَتْ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهَ إِنَّ اللَّهِ لَا يَسْتَحْيِي مِنَ الْحَقِّ أَرَأَيْتَ الْمَرْأَةَ تَرَى فِي النَّوْمِ مَا يَرَى الرَّجُلُ أَتَغْتَسِلُ؟ قَالَ «نَعَمْ» فَقَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ فَقُلْتُ أُفٍّ لَكِ أَتَرَى الْمَرْأَةُ ذَلِكَ؟ فَالْتَفَتَ إِلَيْهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ «تَرِبَتْ يَمِينُكِ فَمِنْ أَيْنَ يَكُونُ الشَّبَهُ»

✧ Umm Sulaym, the mother of the sons of Abu Talhah, entered upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: O Messenger of Allah, Allah is not shy of the truth. What do you think about a woman who sees in a dream what a man sees? Should she perform ghusl? He said: Yes. Aishah said: I said, Uff to you! Does a woman see that? The Messenger of Allah ﷺ turned to her and said: May your right hand be dusty. From where then does resemblance come?
