✧ Prohibition of facing the Qibla while defecating or urinating

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنْ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ

«إِذَا أَتَيْتُمُ الْغَائِطَ فَلَا تَسْتَقْبِلُوا الْقِبْلَةَ بِغَائِطٍ وَلَا بَوْلٍ وَلَا تَسْتَدْبِرُوهَا» قَالَ ثُمَّ قَالَ أَبُو أَيُّوبَ فَقَدِمْنَا الشَّامَ فَوَجَدْنَا مَرَاحِيضَ قَدْ بُنِيَتْ عِنْدَ الْقِبْلَةِ فَنَنْحَرِفُ وَنَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ

Translation

✧ When you go to relieve yourselves, do not face the qiblah with feces or urine, and do not turn your backs to it." He said: Then Abu Ayyub said: "We came to Syria and found latrines built facing the qiblah, so we would turn aside and seek Allah's forgiveness."
