أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ حَدَّثَنَا صَفْوَانُ حَدَّثَنِي سُلَيْمُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ قَالَ
كَانَ أَبُو أُمَامَةَ إِذَا قَعَدْنَا إِلَيْهِ يَجِيئُنَا مِنَ الْحَدِيثِ بِأَمْرٍ عَظِيمٍ وَيَقُولُ لَنَا «اسْمَعُوا وَاعْقِلُوا وَبَلِّغُوا عَنَّا مَا تَسْمَعُونَ»
Translation

✧ Whenever we sat with Abu Umamah, he would bring us great matters of hadith and say to us: “Listen, understand, and convey from us what you hear.”
