Sunan ad-Darimi 2612

✧ In the prohibition of selling alcohol

أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ أَبِي الضُّحَى عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

«لَمَّا نَزَلَتِ الْآيَاتُ مِنْ أَوَاخِرِ سُورَةِ الْبَقَرَةِ خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَتَلَاهُنَّ عَلَى النَّاسِ ثُمَّ نَهَى عَنِ التِّجَارَةِ فِي الْخَمْرِ»

✧ When the verses from the end of Surat al-Baqarah were revealed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out and recited them to the people, then he forbade trading in wine.
